When you adopt a cat from HSP, you will take home a feline that has been microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Our vaccinations are according to shelter standards and up-to-date for the pet's age and current health. This may mean your adopted cat or kitten may need additional vaccines after you take them home. Please be aware that we will now be collecting credit card information at the time of scheduling.

Your card will only be charged a $10 fee if you "no-show" to your appointment without canceling or rescheduling in advance. There is no charge for canceling or rescheduling. This is to ensure optimal use of staff time and fairness to other potential adopters. In the event that you are charged, this fee will be used as a donation to help care for the wonderful pets at HSC.

Our network of foster volunteers allows us to provide specialized care to more animals in need while also opening space at the shelter for more homeless pets. At HSP, we have fostering and sponsorship opportunities for those who want to make a difference in the lives of our animals but are not in a position to permanently adopt. Ringworm is a treatable fungal infection commonly seen in cats.This program equips new pet parents with the tools and knowledge to easily treat their newly adopted kitties in the home. They are not suitable as house pets and thrive in larger or outdoor spaces, such as barns, workshops, warehouses, etc. They are great for getting rid of rodents, providing companionship for horses and other farm animals, and can live out their lives in relative security and comfort. You will just need to bring your lease, pet policy or an official letter signed and dated by your rental agency/landlord that says you are allowed to have a pet on the premises.

Failure to provide the appropriate documentation of your rental's pet policy will result in a declined adoption application. Adoptions are completed in person on a first-come, first-served basis. He is great with big dogs, but hasn't had any experience with another cat or kids yet. Loves toys that bring out the hunter in him.

He takes time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he shows his love with "kisses". It will take him some time to get use to a family with other cats. But once he does, he is very cuddly with them. He loves his head being scratched and night cuddles on the couch or bed.
